AirHUD™ December 2025 Release

Major Drone Support, New Views, and Better Tools for Teams

The latest AirHUD™ update brings the most wide-ranging set of upgrades so far. New drone types, new flight modes, and new ways to see and share key details all land in this release.

Wider Support for Drones

AirHUD™ now works with more drones from more makers. The list includes fixed-wing, VTOL, small quadcopters, and long-range platforms.

Skydio X10D

Drone Details: Learn More at Skydio.com

AirHUD™ now supports the Skydio X10D.

Key points:

  • The drone can fly with no satellite signal / in GNSS denied environment
  • AirHUD™ is now proven to work in a GNSS-denied setting
  • This is the first US Blue List drone supported by AirHUD™
  • It is cleared for use in government and defence roles

Patria SKY is now supported by AirHUD™

It is a long-range drone built in Finland for many uses.

This release adds the first full Mavlink telemetry link to AirHUD™ from a drone where the hardware is already integrated. This opens the door for any drone that uses Mavlink, Ardupilot, PX4, or similar systems.

If you have a drone that uses Mavlink and want it to work with AirHUD™, contact us.

DeltaQuad EVO

Drone Details: Learn More about Evo here

DeltaQuad EVO is the first VTOL fixed-wing drone tested with AirHUD™.

  • It works at long range and at high speed.
  • AirHUD™ keeps a stable link and clear view during these flights.

New EFPV Mode

FPV (First person view) is widely used. A classic FPV view shows a floating drone camera view surrounded by black and with artificial horizon and other indicators overlaid.

EFPV, or Extended FPV, changes this.

  • AirHUD™ surrounds the camera view with the digital 3D model of the area where the drone is flying
  • This gives unprecedented situational awareness for the FPV pilot, as they can better understand what the current surroundings around the drone are

SkyView

AirHUD™ has long offered a Big Map view to show the whole mission from a birds eye perspective. The new SkyView takes this further.

  • It gives a much higher vantage point with a full view into digital 3D model surrounding the area where the drone is
  • With full view into digital 3D model surrounding the area where the drone is
  • And with a huge, adjustable camera view from the drone camera (live)

Again the idea here is to increase situational awareness for drone pilots.

New Ways to Mark Points of Interest

Marking points of interest is now faster and more natural in AirHUD™.

Raise your right arm, point at the target, pinch your finger and thumb and release

  • A marker appears with the latitude, longitude, distance, and direction
  • The marker is shared at once with other users in your group and with the web dashboard at web.airhud.io
  • Users at the web interface can also send new points back to the pilot
  • Markers can be placed on top of the video feed or on the 3D model around it.

Big Map With Real Terrain Heights

Big Map used to show a flat surface.

  • It now uses new data that includes the real terrain height of the area
  • Hills, slopes, and valleys appear in their true form
  • This helps pilots and teams plan safer paths and read risks in the field
